Last night we watched “The Insider”. It’s a 1999 movie (true story) with Al Pacino and Russell Crowe about Big Tobacco and the guy who exposed them.
It got 7 Oscar nominations, so we thought, hey, let’s give it a try. It was good, but not 7 Oscar nominations good. And it was slow – sooo slow. It’s 2 1/2 hours, give or take. I think it got so many Oscar nods because of the content. The underdog taking on the 7 Dwarfs (as the 7 largest Tobacco Company CEO’s are so affectionately referred to).
I generally like this sort of stuff, but I think I was either too tired to fully appreciate it, or it really was just painstakingly slow. I think tonight we’ll just stick to The Office :).
